Our viewpoint is grounded in conservative principles. Our responsibility is to publish transparent standards, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and make the supporting record accessible.

The source and the conclusion are not the same thing.
TPI analysis
A score or interpretation is TPI’s work under its published standards, not an official government finding. Provisional and unscored states identify limits in the available evidence.
Issue Expert perspectives
Organization articles retain their publisher’s attribution and viewpoint. They are not automatically TPI findings or scoring conclusions. Read the independence standard.
Private submissions
Candidate contact information, full questionnaire answers, unpublished drafts, and internal review material are not automatically published on this website.

Collection is not a score
Records collected, evidence qualified, and findings published are different measures. A large source inventory does not mean every action is scored or every office has complete coverage.
Policy evidence only
Routine procedure, ceremonial matters, duplicates, incomplete records, and actions outside the published policy scope do not create points. Open an official’s record to see the evidence included.
Require real coverage
A category needs at least three distinct source-backed policy items. An overall public-record score needs at least four calculated categories representing at least half of the 73 public-record weight points. Missing categories are omitted from the denominator, never treated as zero.
Keep leadership separate
The seven-category public-record score is calculated first. Only officials with a completed board evaluation receive the separately disclosed overall formula: 65% public record and 35% Leadership & Accountability.
The RPT record uses its separately identified party standards and legislative session. Do not treat a bill-alignment result, candidate questionnaire, and public-record score as interchangeable measures.
How the site stays current
Routine updates run automatically. Labels show the limits.
Scheduled processes collect records, prepare source-linked news, and publish qualifying content through the existing website and social channels. Publication is subject to source, validation, duplicate, and availability checks; a delayed or rejected item is not a published result.
Automated TPI News Briefs are identified as such. The 90th Legislature tracker distinguishes Automated Preliminary Analysis, which has not been human reviewed, from a Reviewed correction.
Accountability reports are a separate collection of approved public reporting. A page’s publication or update date does not imply that every underlying source was reverified at that moment.

Do not post private contact details, candidate answers, or sensitive personal documents in a public comment. Submissions are reviewed against the evidence; contacting TPI does not guarantee a change or endorsement.
Candidates seeking endorsement review should use the candidate questionnaire. Receipt of a questionnaire is not an endorsement.
