TPI DAILY BRIEF / PRIVACY

Your subscription, your choice.

This notice covers the optional TPI Daily Brief email newsletter from Texans for Public Integrity. It is separate from our candidate questionnaire.

What you agree to receive

Selecting Subscribe on the signup form gives permission to activate your subscription immediately and send a one-time welcome email. No email-confirmation click is required. The newsletter contains newly published TPI headlines, excerpts and original-source links. It is an evening digest, at most one edition a day. No new stories means no edition.

What we collect and why

We use your email address to activate your requested subscription, send the welcome guide and newsletter, process unsubscribes and resolve delivery problems. We also record the signup surface, consent wording version and signup and enrollment times, along with whether the address was verified. New single-step signups do not verify email ownership. You do not need to give your name, address, phone number, party or political interests.

Service providers and private storage

Resend handles subscriber contacts, mailing delivery and unsubscribes. Supabase stores limited private confirmation, consent and edition state and runs the newsletter service; Vercel hosts the website and forwards public signup requests. Provider delivery records may include technical delivery, bounce or complaint events. Ordinary hosting and email-service logs may contain connection metadata. Subscriber addresses and tokens are not published through this website.

Signup and retention

New signup records keep limited consent and processing evidence, including a keyed digest of the email, the provider contact identifier, the signup source and time, and a record that email ownership was not verified. The raw email address is not retained in these new private signup records. Requests made under the earlier confirmation flow expire after 48 hours; previously confirmed records retain their limited consent evidence. Resend retains the contact so it can deliver the requested welcome and editions and honor suppression. The welcome includes an unsubscribe link for anyone who changes their mind or did not request the signup. We keep consent and edition evidence to document authorization, investigate delivery and prevent repeats, not to infer political interests.

Unsubscribe and deletion

Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter to stop future editions. Resend manages this preference, and TPI's signup code does not silently reactivate unsubscribed contacts. Mail already delivered or already being processed may not be recalled. For deletion, access or a subscription problem, use the official contact routes on our About page. Do not post your email address, confirmation link or token in a public comment. Minimal suppression and consent evidence may be retained so we do not contact you again against your wishes.

No list sharing or silent enrollment

We do not sell your newsletter address or share it with Issue Expert organizations for their mailing lists. Completing a questionnaire does not enroll you in this newsletter. We do not add personal, campaign, nonprofit or other organization contact lists without permission. Required service providers process the data only for this newsletter's operation.
